Bob Conley I have a 1950 Ford 8N. We tore it apart and painted it and replaced all wiring. Now when we push the starter button it doesn’t do anything. We have checked many wiring diagrams and everything seems to be in the right place. We had the battery checked and charged. I have no idea what it could be unless a wire is crossed somewhere. Maybe another wiring diagram would be helpful.
Salmoneye Is this tractor still the original 6-volt positive ground?
Clean EVERY connection and get yourself an I&T FO-4 manual.
You are sure that it is out of gear, right?
There is a safety interlock that will prevent the starter from turning with the tranny in gear.
Are you sure the starter is grounding?
Where do you have the ground strap connected?
If it is grounded to the battery box, try the rear of the dash…
